So many people at the same time may only wants to focus on blogging post, they have to write quality content and post on their platform. With better understanding of the search engine optimisation you could be rank higher and your articles could appear on front page when people search on Google. This is one of the easiest way you can naturally draw traffic to your website which will in returns increase your revenue.

For freelancers yes it is also a way you could make money as a freelance is but this might requires a lot of effort as I understand.
