There are several things you can do to improve your chances of getting recruited if you're seeking for a fantastic receptionist job. Make sure your resume is first accurate and up to date. Make sure you have prior experience taking calls and acting as the customer's initial point of contact. Put that on your resume, for instance, if you previously worked at a hotel front desk or at an administrative office. Mention any information pertaining to your previous work as a receptionist for a dental or medical office. Include any additional qualifications that would be useful for the job, such as computer skills or previous administrative experience.

One thing to watch out for is not coming out as overly eager during the procedure for applying. You want to project a sense of professionalism and assurance, but avoid sounding overly eager to land the position. Employers might assume you'll be too susceptible to manipulation or distracted from your work by new opportunities. In every interview, be sincere, but also keep it succinct and to the point. Avoid talking too much about yourself or restating information that is on your resume.

Finally, be prepared to ask the interviewer follow-up questions. For instance, you should be prepared to respond appropriately if they ask what your biggest shortcoming is.
