Advertising is an integral part of the business sales. In order to run your ad campaign, you will have to remember a couple of things, for example, research your market, find your target audience, do competitor analysis, and last but not the least, design an ad that captivates the audience forcing them to buy the product or service.

So, how do you design an ad that generates sales?

Use vibrant colors, bright colors are considered more captivating than the dark and dim colors. However, don’t use colors just to convey visual information. Colors you use should have meaning, it must represent your brand, your product, your theme, etc. Also, try to use distinctive color to separate your text with the background colors. You can do this by adding different shades of colors.

Your audience should easily see the interactive element (such as click here, buy, etc.)

Your copy should have little text, and more visual aids.

How to Design Your Ad to Generate Sales

Let's get to the bottom line: If you're running a business, you want your ads to generate sales. You don't just want clicks; you want customers. You don't just want brand awareness; you want revenue. You don't just want to build an audience; you want to increase revenue.

So, how do you make that happen?

First, understand the power of scarcity. The more rare something is, and the more in-demand that rare thing is, the more people will try to get their hands on it. Do you know what isn't rare? Someone telling you that they can help solve your problem if you click on their ad. So if all of your competitors are saying that same thing—how are you going to stand out?

The answer is scarcity. Maybe there's only a limited amount of time for people to get a deal like this one… or maybe there's only a finite number of products left before the company runs out… or maybe this particular type of product won't be available again for a long time if ever. That's what will bring people in: the fact that this is something special, and it won't be around forever.

An ad consists of three things, a copy (written words), the product image, and graphical design. In order to create an ad, you need a copywriter who writes the copy for the ad, a conceptualizer who conceptualizes the ad, and a graphic designer, who designs the ad. Sometimes all of these three works can be done by a single individual, but in most cases, an ad is a product of multiple minds. The copy should be very captivating, it should be short, easy to remember, and exactly describe your product. Red Bull's copy reads "Red Bull Gives You Wings" The copy exactly explains what Red Bull is, it tells you Red Bull will give you a lot of energy, a lot of power. The ad design should also be eye-catching, you should captivate the audience's attention at the first glance, it should be something like love at the first sight. The designer should use graphical elements to enliven the ad. Well, these are the requirements to create print or banner ads, requirements for video are somewhat different. The video ads also need a copy, but it also requires a script. The script should explain what the ad will look like, and then the ads need to be shot.
