This informative and factual thread is going to show you how easy it is to make money online by avoiding the scams. Scams are everywhere, but if you keep your wits about you, then they shouldn't be a problem. To avoid getting scammed, follow these steps:
1) Always use trustworthy websites or apps before doing anything else. Make sure they're legitimate before joining. Do a little bit of research on Google and other search engines to see if they're trustworthy. Research the website and see if they're listed as a scam, too.
2) You should always use your best judgment when doing things online. If you think something is fishy or weird, then don't do it! Sometimes we just have to listen to our gut feelings.
3) Never share your personal information (ie: social security number, date of birth, bank account numbers, etc. -- this applies to everything, not only to payment accounts).
4) Do not give out your phone number. It's better to not give it out at all. If you do have to share your phone number, then make sure that it's a safe service. Don't use an app which allows you text chat with anyone for free. There are some apps that require you to give a certain amount of money before it will let you text chat with anyone for free. Some people may pretend to be a young woman looking for love and then ask for nude photos. Or perhaps someone will try to dox you -- which is when someone posts your personal information online (or tries to). If you don't want your personal information leaked, then just don't talk to people online. Remember, if it seems like too good of a deal to be true, then it's probably a scam or illegal.
5) Be careful of what sites or services you use. Don't just trust any website with money or your personal info. Be careful of which sites you join or get into.
