The traditional food truck in the USA is catching attention in our country. Although some food trucks here are not really trucks but a van or a jeepney (a small bus type of vehicle). The advantage of the food truck business is the choice of location. During weekdays it is catering to the business district for the office employees. During weekends the park is the haunt of the food truck.
The appeal of the food truck is the design of the cooking area that it is clearly seen by the customer. Another plus is the hot food that is served – usually a sandwich but there are other food like rice meal or chicken wings. One owner of a food truck said that their style of operation (with a food truck) is much cheaper than renting an eatery or restaurant space. All they need is a parking space that they also pay but just a minimal fee. With the high rental charges in the city the food truck is the savior of the fast food industry. The capital is quite big for the truck but it can be recovered after a year or 2 of operation.
