In our country there is only 1 drive-in movie and it is new since it was opened only during the pandemic era (of 2020). The capital was huge because the open air theater is like a vast parking lot where the vehicles would park to have a vantage view of the big screen. Based on the computation of an independent researcher in the movie industry the drive-in theater will be getting popular in the years to come because it is not confined like being inside a cinema that is dark. Maybe if that prediction will come true then a drive-in theater may make the cinema houses obsolete.
