This issue happened just recently in the compound where I stay. A co tenant who has just renewed his rent is unfortunately given a transfer in his workplace to another city entirely and he has to move to that city as soon as possible. He still has eleven months left on his rent.
In a bid not to lose out, he brings in another person to come stay the remaining part of his rental tenure and pay him the remaining part of his annual rent.
The landlord getting to know that says it is an illegal arrangement. And there is so much chaos. What do you think of this? Is is illegal to get money from another person to complete your rental tenure if something happens and you can't stay in that place again?
