Cryptocurrency legality is expanding in Louisiana

The governor of the US state of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards, on June 22, 2022, signed the bill number 802, introduced by State Representative and Republican leader Mark Wright, giving it legitimacy. This has allowed state financial institutions and trust companies to incorporate digital currencies into their operations.

Mark Wright is one of those crypto-friendly politicians in the US who are exploring the possibilities of legalizing crypto in their respective regions in various ways.

. Crypto trading companies got statutory recognition in Louisiana on 1 August 2020, in April 2021 a resolution appreciating Satoshi Nakamoto was also passed, in March of this year Wright introduced a bill to pay all kinds of taxes, fees etc. which is expected to take effect in January 2024.

Wright also introduced another crypto-friendly Bill No. 1010, which allows the creation of deregulated industrial power fields in the state, it will help bitcoin miners establish their territory in Louisiana.​
