The President of the Central African Republic (CAR), Faustín-Arkanz Toudera, is set to launch its own crypto the Sango Coin.
Sango Coin will be a cryptocurrency and not a bank-issued CBDC, it is based on the country's bitcoin reserve and will be considered the national currency in the country.
The Sango Project was started in May, but the intention behind it was not known to anyone, a recent announcement by President Toudera gave an explanation about it. As of now the whitepaper for Sango Coin has not been made public yet.
Although Catch Bitcoin supporters are appreciating the project, they consider a country's currency based on bitcoin reserves as an appropriate move. But most people are not satisfied with this idea of Todera, they refer to Sango as "scam" and "Shitcoin".
