Buttermilk is beneficial for our Health.

Buttermilk can be taken at any time. Buttermilk contains calcium as well as sodium. It also contains minerals and proteins which provide energy and nutrients to the body. Buttermilk, when taken regularly, lowers cholesterol levels in the body. It controls blood pressure. It gives the bones the strength they require.

Buttermilk expels impurities from the body, as well as increases the rate of metabolism and contributes to weight control. The food taken with buttermilk helps in digestion, reduces indigestion and acidity problems and boosts immunity. Those of you who want to lose weight can take buttermilk daily in the morning.

People with piles can get relief by drinking half spoon of ginger powder in a glass of buttermilk. Diabetics, and non-dairy people, can take this as an alternative. Coriander powder and fried cumin stick mixed with buttermilk can reduce the risk of dryness as well as phlegm and rheumatism.

To increase appetite, you can also add a little ginger powder in buttermilk and drink it. Buttermilk can also be taken by adding water to a cup of yogurt and mixing well. It can be made by grinding ginger leaves, raw green chillies, and a teaspoon of cumin powder with enough salt to taste.
