For the next five years, Binance will be the principal sponsor of Argentina's national soccer squad as well as the naming sponsor of the country's national soccer league.
The crypto exchange announced on Monday that it has reached an agreement with Argentina's soccer governing body, the Argentine Football Association (AFA).
Binance said in a statement that this is the first time the business has worked with a national soccer squad anywhere in the world. Argentina is a two-time world champion with Lionel Messi, probably soccer's best player, and one of the sport's most ardent fan groups.
According to Binance, the agreement includes the creation of a fan token that would be launched "shortly" on the market.
"Through this collaboration, we intend to promote Argentine soccer at all levels and raise knowledge of Binance, the crypto world, and blockchain among soccer fans across the country and around the world," said Maximiliano Hinz, director of Binance Latin America.
The partnership, according to Leandro Petersen, AFA's commercial and marketing manager, would bring the federation and the country's top teams closer to millions of fans around the world who will be able to purchase new digital products from AFA.
Binance is keen at spreading its tentacles round the globe.
