Addressing the disparity between engineers and technicians.

There has always been a sort of cold war between technicians and graduate engineers. The reason is that a graduate engineer just graduates from college and is placed in a higher position ahead if the technician who probably got trained on the field. The technicians are also of the opinion that graduate engineers don't know much about the practical application and demands of their job, they opine that they are the ones that teach the engineers the job.

To address this disparity, I think organizations should take cognizance of the fact that the technicians are most times more experienced and knowledgable than these graduate engineers. Hence, they should be accorded some respect in the organizational structure. The engineers should also see the technicians as one vital part of the professional ecosystem and treat the technicians with respect. By so doing, the rivalry between the technicians and engineers would be completely eliminated.
