Crypto exchanges are becoming popular nowadays because they make transactions of foreign currencies easier, you can convert your money to fiat simply by using the peer to peer platforms, you can also use it to receive payment, this is very ideal if you're dealing with lack of payment support for your products or services.
There are some trade offs though with each crypto exchanges, due to charges and effectiveness of the services, you can also use crypto exchange to hold on to coins, make money or resell, I currently use three exchanges for different purposes.
