It is true that the African way of life is different from the western world. Our belief systems, our thoughts process are all different. That's why there are things that gain traction in the western world but won't even move a morsel over here in Africa. One of those things is the modelling profession. I have read about career models in the USA like Naomi Campbell et all. In Nigeria and Africa, if you want to take modelling as a career, you are bound to fail. The closest we have to models are actors/ actresses, music artistes and footballers.
For you to hear of a career model, it is very rare in Africa. The few ones that try to spring up soon fade into oblivion. I don't know the possible causes of this. I think it is cultural though. If anyone you know is aspiring to be a model in Nigeria, just tell him/ her that it can't work.
