Through Twitter Ukraine asked for donations in the form of crypto (Bitcoin and Ethereum) to the world public. This is the first time in history that a state government has asked the public for donations in the form of crypto. To date, this thread created has accumulated 185.48565489 BTC and 2431.855800072205774488 ETH. Previously several non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and volunteer groups in Ukraine had raised more than US$4 million in Bitcoin contributions.
The information on Twitter is very brief and is not followed by additional information, which party in government controls the crypto wallet and the distribution mechanism, including its use. Conflict relations in Europe with crypto are even more closely intertwined, when Russia is prohibited from using the SWIFT system. So it will most likely encourage President Putin to use an open blockchain system, such as Bitcoin, Solana, Cardano and so on.
