Insurance companies generally don't cover IVF treatments, but they may cover other infertility services such as egg donation or surrogacy.
What is IVF?

In-vitro fertilization (IVF) is a process that uses sperm to fertilize an egg outside the body. The resulting embryo is then transferred back into the uterus where it can develop into a healthy baby.

Why do I need insurance?

You may need insurance if you're having multiple rounds of treatment to increase your chances of getting pregnant or if you're paying out of pocket for an expensive procedure. If you have a high-risk pregnancy, your doctor may recommend that you get coverage as well.

However, in some cases insurance can cover IVF, but it is a matter of how much you are willing to pay out-of-pocket. You will have to make a decision whether it is worth it for you to pay out of pocket or if you would rather have insurance cover the procedure.

Many insurances will not cover IVF procedures, which means that you will be responsible for covering the costs yourself. If you have private insurance, then this may be an option for you.

Some insurances do cover IVF procedures, but only for certain levels of coverage, and if you are under a certain age or if the baby has Down syndrome. You can find out what your policy covers by checking with your insurance company.
