When we hear of Multi Level Marketing, what comes to our minds is that it is a huge pyramid scheme that is meant to scam people. While that is largely true, there are a few MLM schemes that are very important legit while a greater number is scam.
For those that might want to do MLM in future, they have to understand how to identify the scam ones from the authentic ones and the major characteristics of the scam ones is that they emphasize more on downlines than actually selling products. They offer more incentives for building downlines than selling their products.
One other significant characteristics of scam MLMs is that they over hype their products and make unrealistic claims about the efficacy of their products. Some even use manipulative tactics to recruit people in and sometimes isolate people from friends and families. Whenever you see any of these characteristics in an MLM, it is a scam for sure.
