There are several spending habits that you should eliminate to help you save and manage money as a student in college. Here are three habits to eliminate immediately:

1- Impulse buying: It's easy to get caught up in the moment and make a purchase without thinking it through. Whether it's a new phone or a nice outfit, this does not mean not buying nice things though, impulse buying can quickly drain your bank account. To avoid this, make a list of things you need before going shopping and stick to it. Also, consider waiting a day or two before making a purchase to give yourself time to decide if it's really necessary.

2- Eating out too often: Eating out can be nice and enjoyable experience especially with friends, but it can also be expensive. If you're eating out several times a week, it can add up quickly. Consider cooking your own meals at home, making lunch yourself for school.

3- Overspending on entertainment: It's important to have fun and relax, but it's also important to do so within your means. Overspending on entertainment like going to cinema, concerts, or parties can put a strain on your budget. Look for free or low-cost alternatives like street football, board games with friends, or reading interesting books.
