A report published in The Wall Street Journal states that Michael Barr, a former member of Ripple's advisory board, is likely to become the new head of the OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency). Barr is also an Ex-official of the U.S. Treasury Department, but his name has made XRP as a jumper in the coin market.

XRP has lost more than 50% of its value following the SEC lawsuit against Ripple Lab executives in December 2020. XRP also lost 4th place in coin market to Polkadot (DOT); Now, this new development in American politics has influenced the market again and XRP has begun to gain back some of its lost value.
