When you are a new seller, it is obvious that you don’t have traffic because you don’t have any recommendations and positive reviews. When you have just started out, you don’t have a high ranking yet, therefore, there are no sales. Advertising and Marketing are the only ways for new sellers to reach the target customer.

When you run ads, product visibility and store visibility will improve and you will be able to reach your target market. When the target customers see your product, they will buy your product.

Get positive reviews

Ads will encourage people to buy. When they buy, they might leave positive reviews as well. When your products have positive reviews, more sales will follow, even after your ad campaign ends.

Improve visibility

When you run ads, interested people will start clicking on ads. When your ads get clicks and people reach your product page, the marketplace algorithm will push your product up in the ranking, thus, making your product appear on search results.
 
In theory, there is no need to spend money on ads as we have so many free marketing platforms like facebook, Instagram, tiktok, etc. However, in practical standpoint, without spending money on ads, you cannot generate sales. Facebook has 2.97 billion users, let's say you post your product on your facebook page, will 2.97 billion people see your product? Well, not! Only people on your followers list will be able to see your products, more people you have on your followers list, more exposure it gets. How can you build followers? Well, you can grow organically but it will take a long time (unless you are a celebrity), therefore, the only option left for you is to run ads to build followers on your page, or directly run ads for your product. Social media is a free publicity platform, however, you can benefit only when you have audience and you need to spend money to build audience.
 
One way or another, a start-up business needs a monetary investment in advertising. When you advertise on Facebook or Inst, you have to use proxies, multi-accounting software, and targeting etc. It all costs money if it's good quality.
