Having carefully studied established businesses, over seventy percent (70%) of payroll expenses is foe expenses of experienced staff members. Top companies may more to keep such a valued asset to their company with better packages. Whenever an experienced staff member resigned from a company, the contribution of such an experienced staff member always have adverse effect on output. Finding a replacement that will perfectly fit in is nearly impossible. When a new employee is hired to to fill in the vacant role, it takes time for such employee to make substantial contribution to output..

is it a must to retain experienced staff members?

Personally I think it's best to try and keep your experienced staff for as long as you can because having to employ new staff and retraining wastes a lot of productive energy and time. It could be a setback to growing company and organizations. By so doing you'll also be saving cost and time

The competent and experienced staff know themselves and they understand that they can get a better opportunity at any point in time, that is why it very important to always treat them well. Besides that the benefit and development they bring to business because of the experience and competence is not small. If you buy something with your money and you enjoy it, you wouldn't want that thing to slip out of your hand.

This is because experienced staffs are most likely very skilled and you would have to pay them based on industry standard salary scale. Also these experienced staffs are constantly being lured away from your organization by competing organizations. You would have to up their salary in order to convince them to stay because their skills and experience is highly sort after and it might be long before you get a replacement with that kind of skill and experience.

An experienced employee knows his/her worth and would not settle for less so companies go out of their ways to get them to stay in the company. Most businesses prefer employees with experience because they believe they already know how to tackle and solve the problems they may face unlike the inexperienced ones.

A staff that becomes good in the job should be given a raise. Compared to a new one in the job it is better to keep the experienced staff especially if you are happy with the performance. Hiring a new worker in place of the experienced one is a gamble even if the salary is low but you are not guaranteed of a good performance.

Experience worker's are already skilled and do not need to be joked with cause they already know the secret of the business unlike the inexperienced ones whom you can't guarantee of a good performance and they are been sourced for by other firms that's why they do feel non reluctant most times when you failed to give them a pay increase cause they already know they are services are been sourced so for you retaining them you need to attend to their needs and give them a pay rise that's one of the Major factor of high expenses with experience workers

I don't think it is very expensive to keep experience staffs. In Nigeria where there are lots of unemployed youth that have various skills and knowledge, that every employee his sitting firm to secure there jobs even going to the mountains to pray for job security. If any staff thinks that he is experienced and he needs and increment of salaries, he must apply wisdom in asking for such, or else he will push himself out to overcrowded labour market.

You're right on this, it is expensive to keep experienced staff members in most cases, this is because you have to pay them for the services they offer, they are professionals and have to be treated as such. However, that tend to get better job offers from other companies that are willing to pay them even more, so you have to ensure you keep them, I think this is where the expensive part comes in.

You said experienced staff, experienced staff are the staff that have years of working skill and have been doing a particular job or activities for a very long time and also knows a lot about it and also skilful. People like this you will not want to lose them and keep them at all cost the only way to keep them is by paying them handsomely.

Experience is something that comes with many years of service, dedication and hard work. It is not something that comes by in a day. It is built over the years and no school can teach that. So this makes experienced staff the darling of many businesses and companies. They are expensive to keep because companies might go into a bidding war to secure their services and they normally go for the highest bidder.

It is very obvious that the experienced ones in a work place are bound to earn hi her than the less experienced ones on the job, because we cannot compare the contribution or input an experience person will bring on the table, to that of an inexperienced person. So looking at that they should earn higher.
