When the pensioner needs to find work for a livelihood

This issue is a sad fact that many retirees here are facing. They have a pension but it is meager like only $50 per month which is only good for paying the rent of room. Most of those kind of pensioners are still working even to the extent of doing odd jobs just to earn lunch money, so to speak.

In our culture, it is common to take care of your old parents. But not all parents want that privilege. They prefer to be independent so they try to find they own livelihood. Maybe the government should provide an occupation to the pensioners particular for those 70 years and older. They need a job even if the salary is minimal. What’s important is the sense of achievement that they are earning their keep.

I do feel sad when I see the older generation that have even retirees still struggling to make and meet. I don't even know who to blame the cause on. At times, I do blame it on government for making their pension too small. Hardly you will see a politician struggling for a living at old age.
