When is right for a young person to own a car?

For those of us staying in developing countries, we struggle with so many different things. Because of the level of poverty prevalent in developing countries, a car is a luxury. This is because a car would make you incur expenses on maintenance and servicing. With this in mind, when is the right time for a young person to consider getting a car?

Let's assume the young person is out of college and is employed in an average decent job. By that, I mean a job of about NGN100,000 - NGN150,000 a month. (approx. $210 to $315). At which point should such a person consider buying a car? Some people say after the first year of working. Some say after two years of working. Some say that salary is too small for someone to own a car because maintenance costs would eat up the whole income. Do you think that is true?

There are a lot of factors when deciding whether or not it's right for a young person to own a car.

First, you need to consider how old your child is. if they're not yet 18, then you likely won't be able to get them a learner's permit until they turn 18. Once they've turned 18, their driving privileges will depend on where they live in the state, so it's best to check with local authorities first.

You'll also want to consider what kind of driving experience your child has had already. If they have never driven before and don't know how to drive safely, it might be better for them to wait until they can drive legally before getting behind the wheel of any vehicle (especially if their parents' home isn't close enough for them to walk).

Finally, think about what kind of insurance coverage your child needs before purchasing a car. the higher the deductible, the more money it costs per year!

First of all, it should be above 18. Then he should learn to drive from childhood, and he should know everything about traffic rules.
When he follows all these rules, he should be given a car.
