For those of us staying in developing countries, we struggle with so many different things. Because of the level of poverty prevalent in developing countries, a car is a luxury. This is because a car would make you incur expenses on maintenance and servicing. With this in mind, when is the right time for a young person to consider getting a car?

Let's assume the young person is out of college and is employed in an average decent job. By that, I mean a job of about NGN100,000 - NGN150,000 a month. (approx. $210 to $315). At which point should such a person consider buying a car? Some people say after the first year of working. Some say after two years of working.
