Firstly you need to consider the needs of your business. Some businesses might not need a particular position as that role might not contribute to the general successes of the business.

Having the right candidate starts with analyzing the job to get information about the duties, responsibilities,skills and the right environment for the position.
The experience of the job candidate is one of the thingsvto consider when hiring employees. If a candidate has shown success in a similar job,It shows that the candidate will be able to replicate the success at your company since they have proven a record of accomplishment.
The potential of a job candidate is also important. Some candidates may not have experience but may grow into a great asset if given the opportunity.
The attitude of the candidate is also of importance because having a skilled candidate that does not have the right attitude may even cost you more than you may stand to gain from the candidate's skills.

When hiring employees both in a small or large scale business, there are may factors that should be put in place. There is no doubt that be best people who should be in charge of a recruitment process is the Human Resource management team (HRM) but in most cases, in order to minimize cost, the employers would want to take up this responsibility, thereby being biased in the recruitment and selection process. Before choosing an employee, you should be able to look beyond the paper qualification of the potential employee. You should determine the level of his skills. The level of his or her creativity; productive; decision making skills and innovation should be played out. I once attended an interview where Intelligent Quotient (IQ) questions were asked to test our creativity and decision making skills because it was in an environmental company. This goes beyond to show that, these days, employers are seeking for those who are creative and this is beyond just paper qualification. Another factor that should be on the lookout is the discipline level of the potential customer, he or she should be self-disciplined. There are some employees who would be the because of the downfall of a business. Negligence should not be entertained by an employer towards the employee.
 
Experience is one of the important things to consider when hiring an employee because it gives you a peek at what they can deliver when they are employed and if it's possible you can contact other previous workplaces to inquire about his attitude to work and other things.

I think nowadays everything is easier because you can outsource hiring to other firms that specializes in this and all you have to do is to give them what you're expecting and they'll find and vet different candidate before handing over to you.

I also think punctuality is good thing to consider because it says a lot about a person, punctuality shows how one's attitude to work is, how he will complete this tasks etc.

Interpersonal relationship is also very important because people that are open are very easy to communicate with and they'll talk when they are facing any difficulty which will help tremendously when working together.

Honesty is also a good quality to look out for especially if you're hiring for more intimate roles that might require one on one access to you or the companies finances, I've seen a lot of times when employees squander company's money or defraud the company etc.
 
When hiring a worker or an employee it is good to always make your research about the person to be sure the person will be the right fit for the job.

start by looking at the qualifications does it suits with the demands of the job. if you need an accountant it will good to look for candidates that have good background in finance, accounting or book keeping

Then the next one is that you look out for the skills that the job demands.You should try and drill the employees to get the best out of them to choose the most suitable of them all.

you should also be sure that the chosen one have a good knowledge of what the job entails. This way you would be working with an experienced hands and not one you would need to teach their jobs.
