Knowing the problem your business is trying to solve is important for a number of reasons.
In order to do that, you need to identify the problem, and then make sure that you're actually solving it with your product or service. If you don't know what problem you're solving, how will you know that your marketing is addressing the right people? How will you know that your business is actually helping anyone?

To identify the problem, think about why you started your business in the first place. What were you trying to solve? What was missing in the marketplace? Who was being underserved?

Then, look at your offering: does it actually solve that problem? Or could someone else offer a solution better than you can? Your competitors! Look for a strategic way to up your game.

Knowing the problem your business solves can help you make sure that your business is providing value to its customers—and if it's not, it can help you figure out where your blind spots are so you can improve.
