There are a lot of passive income streams that are basically beginner friendly, business like blogging and YouTube are easy to get started with and can make you money in a very short period of time, compared to business like rentals or real estates which demands higher capital and expertise to succeed in.

If you're just getting started it's important to focus on these easy niches, you can get a blog up and running in a very short period of time, but due to the low barrier of entry you'll have to work very hard to drive traffic, or used paid means like running ads or working with influencers to drive traffic.

Investment is the best way for beginners to build passive income but there are two challenges: you need a good amount of money to start investing, and there's always a risk that you might not make a profit. Starting a business also can be a good passive income source for beginners provided they have skills but you need money to start a business, and it takes a lot of hard work and time to get it up and start making profit. It could be years before you start making passive income.
