Taking profits have different method and traders have different methods they use for example some use a rigid system for example they always make sure the price hits their assign take profit and they don't move it, they don't care if it reverses and come back to their entry, it's either it hits it or not.
There are also flexible traders who often shift their take profit or even get out manually when they feel like the market Is going to reverse and take them out and in my opinion it is the best way to trade given that you don't know how the market is going to behave.
