What Is Lactose Intolerance?

Milk is a complete food that is produced in the body of mammalian mother, which is basically meant for the young one to feed on and to survive till the young one becomes adolescent and subsequently adult. Like the Cow produces milk for the calf.

There is a milk sugar known as Lactose that is digested by the enzyme lactase, produced only in the intestine of the young one to break down the milk sugar into simple sugars which can be easily absorbed by the body.

The milk from the cow or buffalo contain lactose sugar, and this can’t be digested by the adults, as the nature has already stopped the production of the enzyme lactase in the body of an adult as it is no more required by the body.

But because of modified food habits many individuals have the habit of drinking milk and some of them even can digest the milk because of the adaptation by the body. About 70% adults they can’t digest lactose and they develop stomach cramps, pain, flatulence, and diarrhea if they have the milk. Such people can have curds, cheese, and other milk products where the lactose contents are less and they can digest!
