NFTs are digital assets that represent an art, photograph, video, etc. in the blockchain. When Axie Infinity was launched in April 2018 by Sky Mavis studio, it took the world by storm. Even a pixelated game like The Sandbox that was released in 2012 was converted to NFT game because the developer thought people will find more interest in The Sandbox Metaverse. Currently, there are over 200 NFT Games being played by over 200 million players globally.

The most played game is PUBG with little over 1000 million players. The most played NFT game is Alien World with 1.16 million players. The second most played NFT game is Axie Infinity with 677k players (based on the data published on statista.com) While it is too early to conclude that NFT games are nowhere near the traditional games, but we need to understand one thing, the traditional games have been with us since a long time.

In the coming days, NFT games will surely increase because the user base of crypto is increasing day by day.
