As a small business owner, you may feel like you are up against a wave of larger businesses. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and to think that success is impossible. However, there are ways that you can succeed despite the competition from larger companies.

First, focus on your strengths. What makes your business unique compared to the competition? Explore the possibilities of offering specialized services or products that the larger businesses don't provide. This can help you stand out and attract new customers.

Second, build relationships with your customers. Listen to their needs and provide personalized services. This will help them feel valued and create loyalty. Additionally, use social media to build relationships with customers and offer promotions and incentives.

Third, be proactive in marketing your business. Utilize platforms where you can advertise your services and products, such as local newspapers and radio stations. Additionally, take advantage of online platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, and Twitter.

Majority of small-scale businesses have been threatened by large scale businesses and as a result of this the growth and development of the small-scale businesses have been terminated and it always being hindered by the existence of this large-scale businesses. For example in an environment where small-scale businesses like grocery shop exist, an individual may possibly sit with a supermarket store large enough to contain the needs and wants of majority of individuals, and as a result of these individuals in the locality or environment are more likely to patronize the supermarket instead of those local small-scale businesses, as a result of the supermarket having professional, well branded, well packaged, and well delivered products etc. which is something small scale businesses may not have.

In such situation, possible alternatives you can use to survive as a small-scale business owner is by changing your marketing strategy. You do not have to dwell on the physical selling of goods and services to customers and clients, instead you can involve other marketing ways such as social media presence and internet presence.

You just have to keep on doing your business. You don't have to be intimidated by them. You need to make sure your products and services are quality and you offer good customer service. Believe me. You would still get patronage. Develop a one-on-one relationship with your customers. Just keep doing you.

Make sure you have stick always. This would make people see you as as srius business. It would only be bad when you don't have stock and the big companies have. Nobody would take you serious again. Just do all in your best to have supply of your products.

Try and be opening early. It might be your point of critical advantage. Stay consistent on your opening and closing time. If possible, extend your closing time to after the big organizations have closed. By so doing, you are building a reputation for your business. Just stay strong and then, you would grow.
