Passive tobacco smoking simply means inhalation of the smoke by being in proximity to those that are smoking.
This can be very harmful especially for people that stays for a long time with the people that actively smoke because
Smoking has long been discovered to cause a lot of damages to the lungs and the body system entirely.
It has been discovered that there is an increased relative risk of getting lung cancer ~up to 1.3 times higher than those not exposed to tobacco smoke
It as well has been found that there is an Increased risk of coronary Aterosclerosis. All these are deadly conditions and can be very severe and life threatening.
This calls for caution especially to those that do not smoke, in as much as you do not smoke try as much as possible to reduce or eliminate the time you spend in areas where there is high tendency to inhale the tobacco smoke .
By reducing the time of exposure to this smoke you are protecting yourself and your health. But you have to be wise not to make it as a direct stigma to the smokers.
With proper explanation and good communication you can tell them about the harm they are causing to themselves and the people around them.
If they quit, that's good for them and you . if they refused, that's good for you(atleast they know why you distant yourself while they smoke).
