If you want to establish your online business and start selling online, you have basically two options:

Selling form your own store

Selling via marketplace

Selling from your own store means you buy domain and hosting and create your own online store. If you want to sell from your own store, you have two options, either to build your own inventory or dropship. Building inventory means you buy or develop products and sell fro your store. Droship means products for other companies.

Selling via marketplace means you set up your store on marketplaces like facebook marketplace, ebay, Amazon. Zazzle, Etsy, etc. and start selling from these platforms. You don’t have to spend money to build your store, but you need to spend money to list your product or pay commission on sales.

Droppshipping and selling through marketplace are cheaper options compared to building your inventory and selling your own products.

To sell online, you'll first need a visually appealing and user-friendly website. Then, using digital marketing methods such as SEO, Google AdWords, social media marketing, and so on, you may advertise it online. Promotional products, custom sign banners, flyers, newspapers, newsletters, business cards, and other offline marketing strategies if you wants to promote your business offline.

Selling digital products (downloads) from your store is also a good option, you don't need to keep inventory, ebooks, notebooks, diaries, calendars, and these you can create yourself, then you sell it on the platforms mentioned by Jasmine.

I have a website and I have plans to sell from my website. Actually, when I decided to venture into online working, I was planning to start an online store but I had to stop because of cost involved. Therefore, instead of ecommerce site, I launched a blog. I will be son selling digital items.

If you have a blog and if your blog has a traffic, you can do affiliate marketing, which does not require to create any listing, or acquire products to sell. You can just by sharing the affiliate link of the product. If you want to more than that, you can try dropshipping for which you do not need an inventory.

think there are actually online ecocomerce store where you could advertise your product and get it to a large outreach ,it depends on the prospect you are actually taking because you obviously needs to advertise more to get more sales and more interest to what you are actually keen on selling

I have a blog, it generates referral traffic as well as organic traffic. I earn from ad ads, I use infolinks, adsnese, and A-ads. I earn $50 per month by using these different ad networks. While A-Ads send me daily payment, I have to wait for 3 months to reach $50 on infolinks and get paid after 45 days. It takes 3-4 months for me to reach the payment threshold on Adsense. Since I was already earning from ads, I tried affiliate marketing but did not make any sales even in one month. I also added digital products for sale and was unsuccessful.

I think there are also other way to sell online like making use of a social media account to reach out to your customers. This can only be very effective if your brand as gained some certain level of awareness. I mean you must have been known to some extent to market or promote your products on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, even Twitter and so on. Internet is one the fastest way to get goods sold these days, this is why most brands, even the big ones, are considering using e-commerce as a means to sell out their items.

Social media can help your business in two ways, one, you can use social media to promote your products and drive sales on your store, two you can directly sell through your social pages. You need digital marketing, specially social media marketing strategy to market or sell your products on or through social media.

But in the other hand, if you are able to advertise your online store perfectly to get the attraction of a lot of people that will even be the most profitable and in this case you may not have any competition, but the art and the ability to set it up to a standard of benefiting very well from it is not really easy and most people won't have the time to engage in such, that's just the reason they will just decide to advertise their product on those online store.. it all depends on individual and what we have to offer.

You can advertise to drive sales but it is really difficult to build a brand. If you have not built a brand, you cannot sell from your store. Let me ask you a simple question, you see the same product in two different stores, one is xyz store and another is Amazon, Where will you buy the product from? The answer is obvious, you will buy from Amazon because it is well known. You can outsmart Amazon only by building a brand and selling better products for smaller price.

You cannot just sell anything that you wish to sell online. I would advise that you should sell only things that are in high demand. I would also love to advise that you should try as much as possible to use your own e-commerce store and also popular online marketplaces.

If you are trying to sell products that are in demand, you might not be able to sell even a single piece because a product in huge demand means something that is already being sold by a lot of businesses. When the same product is being sold by a lot of business, how can you survive the competition?

It all depends on how you are doing. You can sell the same product that a lot of people are selling and make a lot of money, but not make money selling unique and valuable product. The marketing method is very important when it comes to generate sales from your online business.
