The crypto community has approved the issuance of the $LUNA 2.0 blockchain with an absolute majority, following the demand of Terra developer Do Kwon. The older blockchain will be called the "classic" version of Terra LUNA. Launch date is May 27, 2022.
The new token will be distributed between LUNA and UST HODLers to help them. For this, Do Kwon has appealed to the cryptocurrency exchange forums to cooperate.
Many exchange platforms have accepted this demand in order to bring relief to their consumers affected by the devastation of Luna. The new token will be airdropped to the old holders on these platforms.
The Airdrop is for both pre and post Terra crash HODLers, however, people are not sure if they will receive airdrop. Snapshots from 7 May are going to find the eligible users for the distribution.
New LUNA blockchain is however not critic free, Dogecoin co-foundet has mocked Luna 2.0 by comparing its launch with "dumb crypto gambling".
