Yesterday, A Reddit user wrote on how his father got a message , demanding ransom of 10 ETH or stand the chance of experiencing physical harm to himself and his family members . The message also made clear to him that the sender is in possession of his home address and other personal details.
Many people followed up the post , confirming that they too experienced the same blackmail .
This to me is one of the disadvantage of engaging in exchange sites that are centralized, because one will stand the chance of losing his funds and personal details one day.
