Search “Check Website Speed” on Google and follow the top search results. Enter your website address on the search bar of the speed tool you are using, you will see different metrics for your website and one of them would be website speed. (If you want to check website speed, I recommend pagespeed.web.dev).

The average speed for a website is 2.5 seconds on a PC and 8.6 seconds on a handheld device. If your website does not fall within this range, your website is slow. A slow-loading website means, your SEO score is poor, you have a high bounce rate, you have a low traffic, and also low conversion.

One of the common factors affecting website speed is related to using large-size images, too many graphics, and a lot of embedded content. Consider removing these large images, if the images are essential, try to optimize the images and graphics.

The template or theme you are using also affects website speed. If that is the case, try switching to a lightweight theme and template.

If you are using too many add-ons or plugins, try to remove unnecessary plugins to improve speed.
