If management does not clearly define performance expectations or follow up with employees about their levels of productivity, the company will experience low level of productivity and hence reduced level of output and revenue.
Reduction in labour productivity experienced by most organization can be an adverse of a bad management, managers, unhealthy work environment, and motivations. When employees complain to each other, complete their tasks with minimal effort or fail to finish their work assignments on time or at all, they may be suffering from a lack of motivation due to a manager who does not relate to the staff.

If you're a business Manager , how will you handle reduction in labour productivity?

When the production level goes down you have to investigate the cause. Usually the production is affected during the holiday season such that businesses are ready for that. But with no clear reason you need to know why. If there is a friction or factions in the workplace then that is a big problem. Or maybe the workplace is not conducive to working anymore like they need good air conditioning.

The first factor is the welfare of the staff, a staff or worker will underperform when the welfare is nothing to write home about. Another is the working condition, where are too much rigid rules that doesn’t go down well with the workers, same with the work environment. So everything needs to be taken care of.

The best way to address a reduction in productivity is by encouraging the employees to put up their best performance at work everyday. A conducive and serene environment free of negative conflicts and the likes should be provided for the workers in order to increase productivity. The required resources and materials needed by the workers should also be provided bat the appropriate time because inadequate materials needed for work can lead to low productivity.

It is very important for every business establishment to always take constant review of the organization including every section. When a company is experiencing a decrease in labour productivity definitely something is going wrong somewhere. Some possible causes of these may be, whether the employees are getting discouraged about what is happening in the organization, the employees might need reorientation to keep on track of their duties.

The best way of solving reduction in low productivity is to access, investigate and analyze the reason's for the low turnout, put in strategic ideas and in place to curb it. Encourage worker's to put in their best to improve productivity and an enabling working serene environment where they would be comfortable to deliver their best. The required resources and materials should always be in place so as to encourage workers that their are readily available materials in stock for production

The best possible ways to address a fall or a drop in productivity level is to talk to the manager first. Ask questions why such is happening. Then the employees must then be questioned too. They may have things to say. They always do. What they say will show who or what is dragging productivity. Ammendments in form of talks, persuations, sanctions, queries or eventual firing could then be made.

There is a saying that You can’t improve something you haven’t measured." Do you collect, report, and manage the key productivity for all departments.
A productivity increase allows for greater returns on the factors of production. If the increase in labour productivity arises from better trained, better
treated or more efficient workers, it can support higher wages.
