How To Spruce Up Your Home Office On A $2,500 Budget

If you have a home office, then you know that it's incredibly important to make sure that the space is pleasant and functional. But what if you didn't have much money to spend? What if you were in a tight space and had to use your office space only as a place to work? You might be tempted to put up some tacky wallpaper and call it a day. But believe it or not, there are plenty of inexpensive ways to spruce up your office space on a budget. Here are just four ideas:

1. Buy throw rugs on sale (or in bulk). If you're looking for something that will make the room look more lived-in and less sterile, then consider buying one or two throw rugs instead of going with wall-to-wall carpeting. They'll help break up the monotony of hardwood floors and give your room some personality, too!

2. Add some color with pillows. Whether it's bright red or midcentury modern green, pillows can really add some life back into an otherwise drab space by giving it texture and texture contrast and they're also cheap!

3. Instead of painting your walls white or gray, try using a neutral palette like brown or gray with accents of green or blue. This will add some interest without making the room feel cluttered (or giving it an institutional feel).

4. Instead of buying a brand new computer case when all you need is an upgrade, consider purchasing an older model with better specs than what you currently have (but still within your budget). Then take it apart and use it as-is (or put it in storage until needed) before replacing it with something more expensive.

I am in a Facebook group and people are always giving away furniture. Giving it away! You could probably get lots of stuff for your home office that way. There are also a lot of Goodwill stores or thrift stores, where you can get secondhand furniture still in good condition. My late husband loved going to garage sales. When it came to furniture for home or office, we rarely bought brand new items.
