Find the right topic and the right keyword: The topic and keyword you choose should fit your authority (something you are expert on)

Use related keywords: Improve your ranking by using related keywords, for example, if your content is about diabetes, also use keywords related to heart disease (diabetes are prone to heart diseases)

Establish your structure: Use your main keyword to find related questions around the topic. Try to use keywords that have low difficulty but high search volume.

Avoid Keyword stuffing: Target 2-3 primary keywords, 2-3 secondary keywords, and make sure your keyword volume is less than 5 percent.

Make your content visually appealing: Add images, videos, bullet points, H2, H3 tags, divide your content into short sections and medium length paragraphs, etc.

The Keywords strategies you used in 2012 will still work in 2022, however, the only difference is the effectiveness of your SEO strategies implementation. in 2012, it was easy to get ranked on search engines, and in 2022 t is really difficult to rank high. Thar's because the competition is tough. if you want to stay ahead in the game, you will have to focus on keywords that are moderately searched but do not have huge competition on the search engines. if you focus on high-traffic keywords, it will be very difficult to outsmart your competition. The Key to SEO is getting ranked n the top 5 results because most internet searches, check only the top results. Some searches go beyond the first page and check the results on the first 3 pages. Therefore, you have a chance of getting traffic if you managed to get into the first 3 pages.

No matter how much SEO strategies, keywords that are still the important thing to learn. I use a free Google Chrome extension called "Keywords Everywhere - Keyword Tool". When I do a search, off to the right side of the page it displays Related Kepywords and Keyword Phrases. It also shows what People Also Search For. This tool is very useful.
