If you just got a new car, you can get gap insurance after you purchase the car, But you need to know that there is a purchasing window, which means limited for it's purchase.A lot of insurance companies do request that an insured should get . a gap insurance at least in about 30 days of leasing or financing the car.
So if you have carry out the policy within the stipulated time you would have gotten your car protected or secured more which is good. but a time will always come that you might no longer be in need of your Gap policy for whatever reasons then you can go ahead to cancel it.
