In a tweet on January 25, 2022, Elon Musk offered to McDonald's to show himself on TV eating Happy Meals if they accepted Dogecoin for payment at their outlets. McDonald's responded on Twitter, asking it to accept "Grimacecoin" for Tesla products in return.
Although there was no such thing as Grimacecoin (then), it was a McDonald's satire based on Grimace, its commercial character, to which the simple answer was that McDonald's did not take Musk's offer seriously. But, this tweet caused a flood of tokens named Grimacecoin on various blockchain platforms like ERC, BSC.
Although these new Grimacecoins have gained numerous investors, not even one of these Grimacecoins is yet recognized in the cryptocurrency market. Nevertheless, the possibility of some of these getting recognition in future cannot be ruled out.
