Sites that accept articles on topics of interest are good places to look for writing assignments.

Secondly, Create and self-publish your own ebooks and books.

Selling your writing has never been easier thanks to sites like Lulu, Create Space, and others. You don't need any money to get started, and websites like Lulu will let you create a website to showcase your work, write a blog, and promote yourself and your writing.

It is true that freelancing is a very good way to make money for yourself especially when you do not have capital to start any business for yourself. your writing skills can actually fetch you money that will make you venture into your dream business of any kind both online and offline.

But personally, I would actually prefer to write for myself in some cases because that kind of writing will give me passive income on the long run.
Imagine when you write a book for people on platforms like fiverr and they pay you about $100 or $200 depending on the kind of book you write.

If they go ahead and publish such book on platforms like Amazon Kindle direct publishing, they'll make money from such a book forever as long as the platform continues to exist. But you as the writer will just take the $200 or $100 and that is the end of it.
