The problem of excessive work in business is a major issue. It has been said that the biggest barrier to efficiency is the lack of motivation and the lack of time. In fact, most of our time is spent on non-value adding activities which are not productive at all. The first step towards solving this problem is to understand what motivates people and how they work. We need to figure out why some people work harder than others and why some people don’t want to do anything at all! Once we know what motivates us, we can start working on ways to improve our productivity by making it easier for us to accomplish tasks. One way in which we can make things easier for ourselves is by having different kinds of schedules for different types of tasks. For example, if you have a meeting that needs to be finished by 10am every day, then you should set up a different schedule so that you don’t miss any work deadlines because you need more time than usual to finish all your tasks during those days. The problem with excessive work is that it can lead to burnout. Burnout occurs when someone's body and mind are pushed too far, and they eventually reach a breaking point. When people are overloaded with too much work, they become frustrated and end up blaming others for the problems in their lives. Burnout leads to a lack of motivation and productivity. Employees who are burned out may be less likely to complete tasks, which can have a negative effect on their performance. Excessive workloads can also lead to stress-related illnesses such as ulcers, hypertension and heart disease. Excessive workloads also result in high rates of turnover among employees who have been working at an organization for more than several years.
