Division of labour occurs when a production activity, process or a job is divided into several separate stages or parts so that each person concentrates on what they can do best. Division of labour has been in existence for many years. It increases the output and improves the quality of goods because it paves way for specialisation.

Specialisation refers to a situation where a worker concentrates on doing a job for which he or she is best suited or trained in. Specialisation also occurs when a country, region or county can produce particular products due to conducive climatic conditions. For example, Kenya is endowed with good climatic conditions for production of tea and coffee. Kenya may specialise in farming.

An individual can also be involved in specialisation where he or she concentrates on tea farming and another one on dairy farming. And in specialisation always quality goods and services are produced cause every worker works at his or her best.

Emphasising more on division of labor, it can also refer to a situation in which different kinds of work are broken down and each part given to a particular person to Carry out. And like you said, this can speed the rate of production while also maintaining the product's quality. This method is better because it reduses workload on workers due to the availability of more people to carry it out. And almost all production or service based companies adopt it in one way or another.

In division and specialisation of labour workers' efficiency is enhanced. A worker can be able to concentrate on what he or she is best at thereby increasing efficiency. It saves time because workers become used to the process of production and can do it at a faster pace. And the quality of goods and services improve. But it has its disadvantages, it creates monotony of work and hence affects the morale of workers. It also hinders creativity as people do the given tasks only in the way they have been trained to.

In business it's good to have division of labour and specialization in some aspect in the organisation. When the tasks involved with producing a good or service are divided and subdivided, workers and businesses can produce a greater quantity of output. Specialization in a particular small job allows workers to focus on the parts of the production process where they have an advantage. People have different skills, talents, and interests, so they will be better at some jobs than at others. Division of labour makes the staff of the organisation become specialist in a particular job or duty. So it is very good to have division of labour in an organisation.
