Web designers have several website content management systems (CMS) to choose from such as WordPress that is popular for its user-friendly interface and large number of plugins, Joomla which works well with larger websites and online communities because it has more advanced features, Drupal which can be scaled and customized but whose learning curve is steep, Magento that is specifically designed for e-commerce with lots of online retailing functions and lastly Shopify-an easy-to-use hosted e-commerce platform that facilitates the building up of online stores in a hassle-free manner. As they all cater for specific website needs and preferences, different CMSs should be evaluated based on such considerations as scalability, customizability, technical expertise or purposefulness.
