If there is something that is fascinating about the food we eat, it is the healthy properties associated with the colour that characterizes the food. Phytonutrients are responsible for giving fruits and vegetables their beneficial properties for our good health.

Today I tell you that we have a lot to thank these phytochemicals for. Therefore, you should know all the benefits according to the colours of the food we eat. For instance, red foods help cardiovascular health, memory and the urinary system.

It is due to two antioxidants called lycopene and anthocyanin. Lycopene is a carotenoid, while anthocyanin is a bioflavonoid. Both are found in fruits like cherries, strawberries, apple, and watermelon. If you want red colour salads you can consume radishes, tomatoes and beets.
