This is a question mostly by high school students who are going to college. The usual choices for a career is the doctor versus the lawyer. My brother’s eldest daughter took up a pre-medicine course for 4 years and another 6 years for the medicine proper course plus 2 years of residency in the hospital before she could take the licensing board. She was almost 30 when she became a doctor.
A friend’s son took up pre-law of 4 years and another 4 years for the law proper course. It took him 1 y ear for the review and apprenticeship before he could take the bar exams. He was 27 when he became a lawyer.
The question now is the success in the field. My niece is a specialist for pregnant women. The lawyer son of the friend is a corporate lawyer who drives an expensive car and lives in an upper middle class village. My niece is not poor but she cannot be considered rich.
