Shares/Stock Best strategy for invest stock in long term ?

What criteria do you use when it comes to a long-term stock investment? What is your strategy?

Do you think that it is better to invest in the long term than in the short term?

I am now a proud holder of stocks. My plan is to keep the stocks as long as I can which means I will not sell if I do not need the cash. When the market price would increase I will just ignore it because my intention with the stocks is a long term investment of perhaps 2 to 5 years or even longer. My take on my blue chip stocks is that it will be worth much more after several years. The only issue is when I should sell and what I would do with the proceeds.

When I bought a lot in a suburban town my objective was to make it my long term investment. Fortunately my vision was correct because I got to earn a huge profit when I sold that lot. With my stocks now I am praying that it will go that way too so that I would gain a big profit after some years.
