Acquisition is one of the business strategies that can be carried out by business actors to develop business, expand markets, reduce competitors and also to increase efficiency. Company acquisitions can be carried out horizontally or vertically. This type of horizontal acquisition occurs in similar companies, such as the crypto exchange Binance acquiring several crypto exchanges such as TokoCrypto, WazirX, Gopax Exchange and Sakura Exchange Bitcoin. Meanwhile, vertical acquisitions occur in supplier companies or providers of complementary products, such as Google's acquisition of YouTube, other examples include car companies acquiring auto parts companies.

A company can be said to have acquired another company if it owns more than 51% or more of the stocks issued by the other company. Acquiring another company means expanding the market, even though the acquiring company (stock buyer) cannot operate in a country, such as Binance cannot operate in Indonesia but acquired the TokoCrypto exchange so that indirectly Binance can still expand its wings to operate and manage the TokoCrypto exchange as a part of Binance. The acquisition process will be easier and simpler than the merger process so it is more widely implemented by business people.
