The many personal loan platforms that are operated online, both in website format and mobile apps, will actually make it easier for us when we need money urgently and can be obtained easily and quickly rather than having to apply for a loan from a bank, but unfortunately the popularity of online personal loans is being exploited by many people. irresponsible people or fraudsters to make easy money. Not only in one country but this fraud spreads throughout the world, so education is needed for the public to recognize the following characteristics of personal loans scams:

1. Loan Offer
Lenders offer loans to prospective debtors which are spread through advertisements. If you contact them, you will often immediately get a loan transferred to your bank account with high interest and fees in contrast to what they offer. Based on the information they have, the scammers also send loan offers via short messages, Whatsapp and robocalls.

2. Not licensed or registered with a government agency
Every lending platform must be licensed/registered from a country or government agency and will always be listed on their homepage or use a barcode. We, as potential users, must also check the authentication of registration numbers with government agencies. Personal loans scams often use personal telephone numbers and free emails, office addresses are also fake.

3. Prospective customers must transfer money/deposits or gift cards.
Official and legal loan platforms will never ask for a deposit, even though they will incur a relatively small initial fee. So if there is a loan platform that asks for more than 10% of the total loan, prospective customers must be careful.

4. The Loan Platform sends money to the prospective customer's account
This is the newest method, without the customer's consent, the personal loans platform scammer will send it directly to the prospective customer's bank account. Next, the scammer will collect the debt with high interest. If this happens to you, don't panic, don't use/withdraw money from the scammer's loan, and you must quickly report it to the police.

5. Requesting Personal Information
If what is asked is only general requirements such as personal data and work, that is normal, but if they ask for a PIN, one time password, then customers must be wary of fraud.
