Well in my own thoughts I think a reason why you need to know and be conscious of your career path is so as to help you find focus.
Once you are able to discover your path career wise, you will properly channel your energy towards it and not be like a scalar quantity in physics which has no direction. So the knowledge of your path gives you focus and direction and furthermore helps you work and build yourself toward it afore Time and before you fully grow and mature into the career you have acquired expertise in it which will help you to stand out and have an edge over your peers and peooe you operate in the same field with.
All things being equal any one that is ahead stays ahead as far as he keeps pushing and so you become unbeatable and find that paving way for success becomes easy for you.
I hope my humble opinion was useful.

Definitely, it was because you made sense and understood what I was driving at. Making or finding your career path early enough will make you focus on what is important and will help you get to your destination quick. you know there's something about doing where you are going, you would be be able to concentrate to achieve more than wandering about. And the rule of nature is that time waits for no one. So the more time you waste the more you are unable to get to your destination to fast

So to find your path fast you need to look at your skills and what you have passion for. Work on them and see if you would be consistent with them. if you are then that might just be your career path and you need to continue developing it still you study it as a course so that you can get a good job with it.

If you are an individual who is looking for a career path, there are many things that you need to consider before you can make an informed decision.

The first thing that you need to do is find out what your skills are. This will help you determine if any of your skills are transferable to another industry or not. For example, if you have a degree in engineering and your dream is to become a teacher, then it would be wise for you to check into the requirements of becoming a teacher in your state.

Another good thing is that it is important for people who are looking for a new career path to understand what kind of environment they would like to work in so that they can ensure that they have the right job fit. If someone wants to work as an engineer but has no interest in working with electronics, then he should look at other options such as becoming a doctor or lawyer instead.

It can also be beneficial if individuals want to find their career path if they want something different from what they did before or if they want something new altogether. For example, if someone who worked in an office setting wanted something more creative and fun-loving, then he should consider going into either graphic design or artistry as these fields offer more freedom.
